30 mm and 40 mm Barrels
The MOLE 30/40 mortar uses grenades of two calibers—30 mm and 40 mm. For this purpose, interchangeable barrels of the corresponding calibers are provided. Barrel replacement can be performed within 1–2 minutes under field conditions. The ability to employ grenades of two calibers significantly expands the combat and logistical capabilities of the MOLE 30/40 mortar. The barrels are rifled, which ensures increased accuracy and stability of the grenade’s flight.
Breech-Loading Bolt Group
One of the key features of the MOLE 30/40 mortar is its breech-loading grenade system. Unlike traditional mortars, this design significantly enhances operator safety. It prevents injury to the operator in the event of an unauthorized detonation of a grenade in the barrel and also allows loading in the prone position, further increasing the serviceman’s safety.
Firing Initiation Group
The design is simple and reliable in operation. The system provides the option to connect remote-control firing devices, enabling firing from a safe distance away from the MOLE 30/40 mortar.
Mortar base plate
The special configuration of the base plate ensures stable operation of the MOLE 30/40 mortar on surfaces with various properties, including asphalt, hard or soft black soil, clay, sand, and more. The MOLE 30/40 mortar kit includes fixing stakes, which can be used as needed for more secure stabilization of the weapon. The base plate is quick-release.
Mortar control group
The control mechanisms of the MOLE 30/40 mortar are ergonomic, intuitive, and easy to use. They enable rapid aiming by moving the barrel in both horizontal and vertical planes. Integrated measuring instruments allow for high aiming accuracy.
Unauthorized Firing Prevention Systems
The MOLE 30/40 mortar is equipped with three independent systems designed to prevent unauthorized firing, ensuring exceptional operator safety during operation.
Sight Mounting Interface
The MOLE 30/40 mortar can be equipped with aiming devices. A dedicated mounting interface is provided to allow quick and convenient installation of a sighting device. Optionally, the mortar can be equipped with a digital inclinometer, which is magnetically attached to the receiver.
